Paper Pumpkin #redboxchallenge!

Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin is hosting a "Red Box Challenge"!

Take the Red Box Challenge! Happy New Year, everyone! The Paper Pumpkin team is especially excited for 2018, and we have two great reasons:
(1) This year’s kits are amazing;
(2) We’ve decided to kick off 2018 with a super fun giveaway. We ’re calling it
the Red Box Challenge, and it’s easy to get in on the fun!

Simply put together a WOW project using an unused, past kit - or buy a past kit that you’ve had your eye on. Then share an image of your project on Facebook or Instagram with #redboxchallenge hash-tag and you will be entered into a random drawing to win a Paper Pumpkin kit.

Now, we think all of our kits are wonderful and amazing--but our random drawing winners will receive the upcoming Paper Pumpkin fifth anniversary March kit. Think: Gorgeous and collectible. Everyone is going to want one. AND the winners will get it in their mailbox before anyone else . Sound fun? Check out the terms and conditions at the bottom of my post, then start crafting your Red Box Challenge project today!

Note: Some project ideas will be selected from the entries and featured in Paper Pumpkin’s monthly newsletter and on our Facebook and Pinterest pages. Past alternative Paper Pumpkin projects you’ve created and posted on social media are not eligible for this contest.

And without further adieu, this is the project I created for the #redboxchallenge :

I decided to alter the Paper Pumpkin Box from the past kit from November 2017 which was called Back In Plaid. I had two kits for November so I broke into my second box for this project. If you follow me regularly, you know that I had also altered the box from the coordinating October Kit. These boxes are just too pretty to part with. Here are some more photo's so you can see all of the detail:

And these are the additional Stampin' Up! products I used:
  • Calypso Coral Cardstock
  • Lemon Lime Twist 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon
  • Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper cut with the Flourish Thinlits Dies
  • Watercolor Wings Stamp Set
  • Calypso Coral Ink
  • Lemon Lime Twist Ink
  • Handle
So yes, you read that correctly. I added a carrying handle at the top of the box for some interest. The handle is screwed to the inside flap of the box with two screws once I poked two holes through the lid. Isn't that neat?

The ribbon was glued around all four sides of the box using Tear & Tape, over the Calypso Coral Cardstock and I also added a triple bow on top of the box. The Glimmer Paper die-cut leaves are so pretty in person as well as the beautiful stamped and die-cut butterfly:

Don't forget as a subscriber, you can still purchase past kits and enter the #redboxchallenge :

Misc: Handle

Petal Passion Designer Paper Times Twelve!

Hi Stampers! Today we are going to play with designer paper. The Petal Passion Designer Paper is all black & white and comes in 12 different patterns. See what I did here with all 12 patterns?

I created 12 identical cards and added some color to all of the designer paper layers!

I stuck with the same ink colors to create a set of 12 coordinating cards. The ink colors I used are:
  • Wild Wasabi
  • Powder Pink
  • Daffodil Delight
I dipped my Aqua Painter into the lid of the ink pads and swished the color on some of the white parts of the designer paper layers. Here are the first six cards, with the angled cut from left to right:

And the next six cards show the designer paper angled in the opposite direction and I'll explain how I created the angled cuts, you'll be amazed....I promise!

Although you see 12 different patterns on each card, I only used 6 pieces of designer paper total for all 12 cards. How is that possible? I started with six different pieces of patterned paper that measured 5-1/4" x 4". Now don't forget that all of our Stampin' Up! designer papers have two patterns on each sheet. I cut each piece like so:

Once the designer paper is cut in half at an angle, flip one piece over and welcome to the second patterned side of the sheet. You now have 12 angled pieces to use on the card bases. Here are the layers I used:
  • All card bases are Basic Black Cardstock 11" x 4-1/4". Score at 5-1/2" and fold.
  • Layer #2 is the angled designer paper. I used my ink pads and Aqua Painter to add color to each sheet and glued to the top leaving 1/4" around all three sides.
  • Layer #3: Whisper White Cardstock 5-1/2" x 1". Stamp a sentiment in the center and glue to card front. Trim the excess on both sides.
  • Branches: Cut two branches for each card. For the cards with Wild Wasabi Ink I added one branch cut with Wild Wasabi Cardstock and one with Vellum Cardstock. For the cards with no Wild Wasabi Ink, I added two branches cut with Vellum Cardstock. Tuck and glue under the sentiment layer. Repeat for each card.
  • Ribbon: Tie the Silver Baker's Twine into a bow and glue to the top of the branches. Repeat for each card.
This was so much fun and I know you'll love it too!

Merry Monday Challenge #273!

I so love the color combination for our challenge this week at Merry Monday Challenge. Marcia is our hostess this week and she wanted us to use red and turquoise on our Christmas cards. Here's mine:

I used Tempting Turquoise and Real Red for my two colors along with white of course. I love how these colors look paired together. The Seasonal Lantern and Lantern Builder Framelits were perfect to stamp, die-cut and decorate.

Have you started playing our Merry Monday Challenge so far for 2018? You'll have plenty of Christmas cards ready to use in December if you start early! Thanks for stopping by today to visit!

Supplies:
Retired: Seasonal Lantern stamp set, Lantern Builder Dies, Quilted Christmas Designer Paper

RemARKably Created January Blog Hop!

We've got some fabulous new products in our Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog and Sale-A-Bration Catalog and we want to show them to you! Welcome to a RemARKably Creative Blog Hop tonight featuring our "Favorite new Bundle"
Are you ready for some great inspiration from fello Stampin' Up! Demonstrators?

I love to create 3D projects and when I spied the new Sure Do Love You Bundle, it was one of the first on my list. What is included in this bundle?
  • Sure Do Love You stamp set
  • Lots To Love Box Framelits Dies
The addition of the Painted With Love Specialty Designer Paper was perfect for today's project. You can see here, how I used the designer paper on both projects:

But wait....there's no box showing in my project tonight is there? That's because I turned the box die pieces that I cut, into a pocket card holder for my pull-out card. I love it when that happens. A cute alternative way to use the box die as a card. Let's take a closer look:

The photo above shows you the pocket card holder and the photo below is a photo of the card:

The card measures 5" x 4-1/4" when open. You score at 2-1/2" on the 5" side and fold. I stamped the large heart image twice using Rich Razzleberry Ink and Flirty Flamingo Ink and then added some die-cut hearts from the designer paper and Gold Glimmer Paper. I completed the card with the sentiment inked in Rich Razzleberry Ink and cut in to a small banner.

Here are the steps to creating my pocket card holder:

  • Cut two pieces of the designer paper with the die.
  • Cut off the small tabs on the top of each die-cut piece and then add a small angled cut.
  • Add Multipurpose Glue on the very bottom of what will be the inside of the box. Press both pieces together. Before you do that though, decide if you want the side tabs glued to the inside of the pocket or the outside of the pocket. I opted to glue mine on the inside so add glue to each long tab, fold in and press both die-cut pieces together. Make sure the rounded flap from each die-cut is facing each other.
  • Fold one flap over that will be glued to the front. I added a half-piece of a Delicate White Doily under my flap and glued the flap in place using Stampin' Dimensionals. I also added a small punched hole to the top of the other flap so that I could thread the ribbon through.

Did you notice the two inked colors on the die-cut heart on the front of the pocket card holder? I actually inked this stamped image using Sponge Daubers and it created a nice look.

I hope you loved today's project and now I will direct you to the next person in the blog hop. You are visiting Debbie Henderson currently, so click on the name below mine:

January Club Projects!

My two Stamp Clubs met for January and I focused the projects on Sale-A-Bration and the Brusho Crystal Colours. All of my club members created these three cards to take home:

The first card uses some new Sale-A-Bration products and the addition of the new Simple Stripes Embossing Folder. I love that the Lots Of Lavender stamp set is a two-step stamp set and you can earn it for free by placing a $50 order. The Celebrate You Thinlits Dies are a bump up as you can earn this 3-piece die set with a $100 order. We have two products on the bumped-up list, which is new to Sale-A-Bration this year.

Here are the layers I used:
  • Card Base: Berry Burst 11" x 4-1/4". Score and fold at 5-1/2".
  • Layer #2: Whisper White Cardstock 5-1/4" x 4". Emboss with the Simple Stripes Embossing Folder and glue to card base.
  • Layer #3: Fresh Florals Designer Paper cut with the Lots Of Labels Dies. Glue to card front.
  • Layer #4: Whisper White Cardstock cut with the Lots Of Labels Dies. Stamp the flower outline using Basic Black Ink. Stamp the colored images using Lemon Lime Twist, Pool Party and Berry Burst Ink. Glue to card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Layer #5: Cut out the sentiments using Basic Black Cardstock and the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies. Glue to card front.

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:

Card #2 is the Brusho Crystal Colours card. We actually did all of the spritzing and coloring first and allowed everything to dry in-between projects:

Because our Brusho Crystal Colours come in five colors, I let my club members pick the colors they wanted for their cards. It was so neat to see the different color combo's. The background was sprinkled first and then spritzed with water. For the butterfly, I had the girls sprinkle two colors on a clear block and add a drop of water to make their own paints. An Aqua Painter was used to color the butterfly:

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:

Card #3 was our last card and for this one we used the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set which is another set you can earn for free with a $50 order:

I made my members fussy cut. Some love it, others don't. I happen to love fussy cutting. It's so relaxing to just sit there, cut and chat at the same time. I know, there are some of you saying NOT! We started out by stamping the large flower image on the Whisper White Cardstock layer with Smoky Slate Ink. One flower in each corner. Next we stamped a solo flower on a separate piece of white using Sweet Sugarplum Ink. Oh how pretty with this ink color!

Card Layers:
  • Card Base: Sweet Sugarplum Cardstock 8-1/2" x 5-1/2". Score and fold at 4-1/4".
  • Layer #2: Whisper White Cardstock 5-1/4" x 4". Stamp the flower image in each corner (rotating the stamp image) using Smoky Slate Ink. Glue to card base.
  • Layer #3: Stamp the flower image on a scrap piece of Whisper White Cardstock using Sweet Sugarplum Ink. Hand-cut and glue in place using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Layer #4: Pool Party Cardstock 3/4" x 3". Snip a "V" at one end and slide under the flower to glue in place. Trim end to fit if needed.
  • Layer #5: Champagne Foil Sheets 1/4" x 3". Cut one end at a slant and glue in place over the pool party layer. Trim end to fit if needed.
  • Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment on Whisper White Cardstock and cut with the Tailored Tag Punch and glue in place using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Crazy Crafters January Blog Hop!

Welcome to a Crazy Crafters Blog Hop! I was invited to blog hop with the team! Today we are all featuring projects using products from the Sale-A-Bration & Occasions Catalogs. I will direct you to the next person in the hop at the bottom of my post. Make sure you visit each and every one of us!

For today's project, I actually case'd (copied and shared everything) a card shown on page 25 of our Occasions Catalog. The only thing I changed is the designer paper pattern on the front. Take a peek:

This is a tri-fold card and when you open the top panel, this is what you see:

Isn't it neat how the little cafe setting sits behind a window? I used a Window Sheet to cover the square die-cut hole. You'll also notice a blue tint on the window. I used the Dark Pool Party Blends Marker to color the window. So quick & easy!

Next, open the center flap in the opposite direction and you'll see the center of the card where there's room for a small note at the bottom:

Here's the detail I colored with my Stampin' Blends:

I don't usually purchase 12" x 12" cardstock so in order for me to use the 8-1/2" x 11" cardstock, my card base measures 10-1/2" x 5-1/2". I scored on the long side at 3-1/2" x 7" and folded.

The front of the card uses the Sweet Soiree Designer Paper and all of the stamping is from the Charming Cafe stamp set and coordinating Cafe Builder Framelits Dies. To finish off the card, I added some Black Baker's Twine on the left-hand side of the card base!

Now it's time to visit my teammates. You are currently visiting Debbie Henderson and if you click the name of the person below me, you'll continue hopping along! Thanks for visiting me today!
